This policy explains what personal data the site colossalfacts.com (“Colossal Facts”, “we”) collects, why and how we use it, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who we are
The site address is https://colossalfacts.com. The site is maintained by Valentin Bachov, who is the data controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For questions about privacy you can reach him through the Colossal Facts Facebook page.
2. What data we collect
- Information you choose to send through Facebook (for example a message about contact, a media kit or an advertising partnership): the details you include in that conversation. We use them only to reply to you.
- Comments (if enabled on the site): name, email, website (optional), the text of the comment, IP address and browser data – for spam protection. The name and the comment are displayed publicly; the email is not.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited – through server logs and necessary cookies for the site to work.
Website contact forms, Media Kit forms and advertising inquiry forms are not currently active for collecting submissions. If those features are turned on later, this policy will be updated before they collect personal data.
3. Cookies
The site may use necessary cookies for basic operation (for example remembering comment details). Statistics cookies (Google Analytics 4) and Google AdSense advertising cookies are not currently active on this site. If they are enabled later, the full list, purposes and durations will be described in the Cookie Policy, and where required a consent choice will be offered. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
4. Embedded content
Articles may contain embedded content from other sites (e.g. YouTube, Facebook). It behaves as if you were visiting that site, and it may collect data about you according to its own policy.
5. Orders
The shop and payment features (WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, Stripe, WooPayments, PayPal) are not currently active for taking orders. If ordering is enabled later, we will collect only the data needed to fulfil an order and this policy will be updated before that happens. We do not store card data.
6. External services and advertising
To run the site we use a hosting provider. Email delivery (WP Mail SMTP), web analytics (Google Analytics 4 / MonsterInsights) and Google AdSense advertising are not currently active on this copy of the site. If they are enabled later, this policy will be updated to describe them before use.
Colossal Facts also has a Facebook page. When you visit it or interact with it on Facebook, your data is processed by Meta according to its privacy policy. The site does not use the Meta Pixel.
7. How long we keep data
We keep information you choose to send through Facebook for as long as needed for that communication. Comments and their related data (if any) are kept indefinitely, unless you ask for deletion. Technical server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operation.
8. Your rights
You have the right to request access to your data, correction, erasure or restriction of processing, and to object to it. Where we process data based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To do so, write to us through the Colossal Facts Facebook page. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission for Personal Data Protection.
9. Changes
